Our story
You arrive as guests, and leave as family
A family home in the hills of Imereti, opened to travellers who love slow mornings and long tables.
Welcome
For as long as anyone remembers, this house has been full
Full of family, of neighbours dropping by, of the smell of fresh bread and wood smoke. When Maia opened its doors to travellers, nothing really changed — guests simply became people we hadn't met yet.
— Maia, your host

A house with a hundred years of stories
Our timber house, with its long carved veranda, was built by hand generations ago. It has weathered every season and welcomed every kind of guest.
Mornings still begin the same way: coffee on the balcony, the valley waking up below, and no reason to hurry.

Everything begins around the table
Here, food is how we say welcome. Bread from the tone, cheese and vegetables from the garden, wine from the family cellar, and a supra that stretches long into the evening.
Pull up a chair — there is always room for one more.

The quiet of the Imereti countryside
Beyond the gate lie orchards and forests, rivers to swim in, and paths that wind up to the ancient Gelati Monastery.
This is a place to breathe slowly, wander a little, and remember what quiet feels like.
We don't really have guests. We have people who haven't met the family yet.
